Privacy Policy
How we work together — what to expect from us, and what we ask of you.
Effective: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: august 26, 2026
Washbox Laundromat LLC (“Washbox,†“we,†“us,†or “ourâ€) operates Washbox Laundromat, our self-service and drop-off laundry facility at 19901 1st Ave S #406, Normandy Park, WA 98148 (wblaundry.com), and Washbox Go, our pickup and delivery service (washboxgo.com). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
It covers our websites, our customer portal and scheduling system, our in-store kiosk, and our physical facility. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
The short version. We collect what we need to clean your clothes, get them back to you, and bill you correctly. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not hand your email address or phone number to advertising platforms. We do use website analytics and advertising tools on our websites — Section 5 explains what those do and how to limit them.
1. 1Information We Collect
INFORMATION YOU GIVE US
-
Name, email address, phone number, and service and billing addresses
-
Account login credentials for our customer portal
-
Order details, service preferences, garment descriptions, and delivery instructions
-
Payment method information, handled as described below
-
Information you provide when you contact us or submit a claim, including descriptions and photographs of items
INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY ON OUR WEBSITES
-
Device and browser type, operating system, IP address, and general location derived from it
-
Pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, and the site or ad that referred you
-
Information collected through cookies, analytics tools, and advertising pixels — see Section 5
PAYMENT INFORMATION
-
Card payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers. We retain a secure token, the card brand, the last four digits, and the expiration date so that a saved payment method can be charged for services rendered.
INFORMATION COLLECTED AT OUR FACILITY AND THROUGH OUR SERVICE
-
Security camera footage. Our cameras record video only. They do not record audio. See Section 7.
-
Kiosk transactions and Washbox Card balances and usage
-
Pickup and delivery confirmations and timestamps, and photographs documenting an unattended delivery where our driver takes one
-
Garment tracking tag identifiers, which link an item to your order — these identify the garment, not you personally, and are meaningful only within our system
2. Why We Collect It
-
To provide our services — scheduling, cleaning, alterations, pickup and delivery, and returning your items to you
-
To take payment, apply subscriptions and promotional codes, and maintain billing records
-
To communicate with you about orders, approvals, confirmations, receipts, and claims
-
To investigate and resolve damage, missing item, and billing claims
-
For safety and security at our facility, and to protect our property, our staff, and our customers
-
To understand how our websites are used and to improve our services
-
For marketing and advertising, as described in Section 6
-
To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims
3. How We Share Information
We share personal information with service providers who perform work on our behalf, and only for that purpose. By category, those providers handle:
-
Payment processing and card tokenization
-
Point-of-sale, order management, and customer portal software
-
Text message and email delivery
-
Website hosting, website analytics, and advertising platforms (see Sections 5 and 6)
-
Route planning and delivery operations
-
Accounting, bookkeeping, insurance, and professional advisers
We may also disclose information where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, or court order; to enforce our Terms & Conditions; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Washbox, our customers, or the public; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy or provide notice of any change.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertising platforms. See Section 6.
4. Security Camera Footage
-
Cameras at the laundromat record video only and do not record audio.
-
Footage is retained for approximately thirty (30) days and then overwritten in the ordinary course, except where it is preserved for an investigation, an insurance claim, or as required by law.
-
Cameras are not monitored in real time. We do not guarantee that any incident will be recorded, detected, or prevented.
-
Access to footage is limited to management and, where appropriate, to law enforcement or our insurer.
-
Our cameras do not perform facial recognition and we do not enroll biometric identifiers in any database.
5. Cookies, Analytics & Similar Technologies
Our websites use cookies and similar technologies. These fall into three groups:
-
Essential. Required for the site, your account, and the checkout and scheduling flow to work. These cannot be switched off through our site.
-
Analytics. We use third-party website analytics to understand how visitors find and use our sites — which pages are viewed, how people move through booking, and where they drop off. This tells us how the site is performing, not who you are as an individual.
-
Advertising. We use advertising pixels from third-party advertising platforms. These allow us to measure whether an ad led to a booking, and to show ads to people who have visited our sites.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them, though blocking essential cookies will prevent parts of our sites from working. Most advertising platforms also offer their own ad personalization controls, and browser-level tools and privacy settings may limit some of this tracking. We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because there is no common standard for how to interpret them.
6. Advertising
We want to be specific here, because advertising is the part of most companies' data practices that customers are least likely to expect.
-
We use advertising pixels on our websites. These let us measure whether an ad led to a booking, and allow ads for Washbox to be shown to people who have visited our sites.
-
We do not upload customer lists. We do not send customer email addresses, phone numbers, or contact information to advertising platforms — not for targeting, not for audience matching, and not for lookalike audiences.
-
We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone.
-
We never provide advertising platforms with your order history, garment details, delivery address, or claim records.
-
You can limit advertising tracking through your browser's cookie and privacy settings, and through the ad personalization controls offered by the advertising platforms themselves.
7. Text Messages & Email
-
Transactional messages. We send order updates, approvals, pickup and delivery confirmations, receipts, and claim correspondence by text and email. These are part of the service and are not marketing.
-
Marketing messages. We only send promotional texts or emails if you have opted in. You may withdraw that consent at any time — reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or email us — without affecting your service.
-
Message and data rates may apply to text messages. Reply HELP to a text for help.
8. How Long We Keep Information
-
Account and order records: while your account is active, and for three (3) years after your last order, so that we can handle claims, warranty questions, and billing disputes
-
Claim records: three (3) years from resolution
-
Saved payment methods: until you remove the payment method or close your account
-
Security camera footage: approximately thirty (30) days, unless preserved for an investigation or claim
-
Financial and tax records: seven (7) years, as required for accounting and tax purposes
-
Marketing lists: until you opt out or ask us to remove you
We may retain information longer where we are required to do so by law, or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim.
9. Your Choices
Washington does not currently have a comprehensive consumer data privacy law granting statutory access and deletion rights. We honor the following requests regardless:
-
Ask us what personal information we hold about you
-
Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
-
Ask us to delete your account and associated personal information, subject to records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal reasons
-
Opt out of marketing messages
-
Update your contact information and delivery preferences in your customer portal at any time
Email contact@wblaundry.com to make a request. We will verify your identity against the information in your account before acting on it, and will respond within thirty (30) days. If you are a resident of a state that grants you additional privacy rights, tell us and we will honor the rights that apply to you.
10. Health-Related Information
We do not ask for, and do not want, information about your health. Occasionally a customer volunteers something health-related when explaining a stain, a soiling, or a special handling need. Where that happens, we use the information only to handle the order safely and appropriately, we do not add it to marketing lists, and we do not share it with advertising platforms.
11. Children
Our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email contact@wblaundry.com and we will delete it.
12. How We Protect Information
-
Card payments are processed by a third-party processor, and full card numbers are never stored on our systems
-
Access to customer records is limited to staff who need it to do their jobs
-
Accounts are protected by passwords that you control, and you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential
-
Security camera footage is access-controlled and retained only as long as described above
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by Washington law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date and version number, is always posted at wblaundry.com and washboxgo.com. Changes apply prospectively. If we make a material change to how we use or share personal information, we will provide notice by email or text before the change takes effect.
